I'm glad you're keeping an eye on Rocky's energy levels! Panting is normal, but if he starts slowing down, struggling to keep his head up, or seems less coordinated, it's probably time for a break. Make sure to give him plenty of rest and fresh water. Just watch for any changes in his usual behavior, and you'll get the hang of reading his cues.

Hey Alex_92, it's great you're keeping an eye out for Rocky's well-being. Look for signs like excessive panting, slower movement, or even whining. These can all be indicators he's getting tired. Always better to end on a positive note with some rest and maybe a treat. swimming's supposed to be fun after all.

hey everyone, so i read the bit about 'Recognizing Fatigue' in our furry friends while they're swimming, and i'm kinda worried now. i've got a young cocker, rocky, who's an absolute ball of energy but i've noticed he starts to pant a lot after a few minutes in the water. just wanna make sure i'm not missing any signs or pushing him too hard. any advice on how to tell if he's just excited or actually getting too tired?

Loved the section on 'Training Your Cocker Spaniel to Swim'. It's clear and direct, makes a lot of sense. I've been trying to get Bella, my cocker, to enjoy the water more, and the part about using treats and praise really hit home. I'm gonna start incorporating some of these tips into our swim time. Thanks, Jodie, for breaking it down so nicely!
